Invisalign® - the invisible solution to teeth straightening

Invisalign® offers a convenient and comfortable alternative to traditional braces. The near-invisible clear plastic aligners will give you the straight teeth and smile you’ve always wanted.

It's an innovative system using clear, removable aligners that fit over your teeth, gradually moving them into the desired position. At Pallant Orthodontics your treatment is designed specifically for you by our expert team. Treatment is virtually invisible and aimed to fit in with your lifestyle. Our remote monitoring allows our team to monitor your treatment wherever you are on a weekly basis. This means greater customisation, shorter treatment times and greater convenience!

How does Invisalign® work?

To create your Invisalign® aligners, we'll take precise digital impressions of your teeth using our iTero Digital Scanner. This state-of-the-art scanner uses 3D computer technology to create exact images of your teeth and jaw. We can also use this technology to simulate tooth movement – that means we can accurately predict exactly how your teeth will move, so each set of aligners fit perfectly according to the smile you want. At your complimentary Invisalign® consultation, we’ll also give you a computer generated image of what your smile may look like at the end of your treatment.

You will be advised by your orthodontist when to change your aligners typically 1-2 weeks per aligner; however our use of Dental Monitoring allows us to see whether your teeth are ready to change aligner. This helps to increase the efficiency and ultimately effectiveness of your treatment!

How long does Invisalign® take?

The length of your Invisalign® treatment will completely depend on your needs, and the issues that are being corrected. As a general guideline, you can expect treatment to take an average of 12 to 15 months, with adult patients.

Minor issues can be resolved in much less time. For example, to close a gap between two teeth, it could take as little as two months. And to solve a mild case of crowding (where teeth are misaligned along the jaw), it could take approximately six months.

When you visit us for an orthodontic consultation, we’ll always tell you how long you can expect your treatment to last.

What are the benefits of Invisalign®?

Choosing Invisalign® is a great option for several reasons.

  • A clear alternative to metal braces
The clear plastic aligners won’t get in the way of your life, or your smile. There’s no risk of feeling self-conscious of bulky metal brackets, as the clear aligners are virtually invisible. You can get on with your life, without feeling the need to hide away while undergoing your treatment.
  • Minimal changes to your lifestyle
Unlike traditional braces, you can remove your aligners to practice sports, eat, drink, and brush your teeth. This means you can maintain your regular lifestyle and dental hygiene routine without having your braces get in the way. Plus, having a flexible, removable options means you can easily clean your aligners as well.
  • A comfortable experience
Invisalign® works by gradually shifting your teeth to their desired position, through a series of aligners. This means there’s no tightening of braces, which can be painful or uncomfortable. Instead, there is gentle pressure being constantly applied to your teeth. The aligners are much smoother than traditional braces meaning they are less likely to rub.
  • Precise treatment using technology
The orthodontist accurately designs position of your teeth and smile by computer aided design (CAD). Every tooth position is carefully considered and very precise movements can be achieved.
