Invisalign is the near invisible alternative to braces for those looking for a solution to get the straight teeth and smile they have always wanted. It's an innovative system using clear plastic aligners which are made to fit over your teeth, gradually moving them into their desired position. At Pallant Orthodontics, we have been given Diamond Invisalign status in recognition of our experience and expertise using this virtually invisible orthodontic treatment method.
How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign aligners are made from accurate impressions we take of your teeth using the iTero digital scanner. This state-of-the-art scanner uses 3D computer technology to give us a precise view of your teeth. The technology is also used to simulate tooth movement so the aligners fit your teeth exactly and get the results you want.
Over the course of your treatment with us at our practice in Chichester, you will need to change your aligners every two weeks. Each new set works to progressively move your teeth into their new position. These aligners can be removed for eating, drinking and brushing, making them a hassle-free form of orthodontic treatment.
Who is Invisalign suitable for?
Invisalign can be used to treat most types of orthodontic problems. Take a look at our before and afters gallery for some examples. Because the aligners used are virtually invisible, they’re a popular treatment option among adults, but they are also suitable for teenagers and people who only need a quick fix and would prefer to avoid more traditional braces.
Invisalign Teen – The Invisalign Teen version of Invisalign uses the same method of virtually invisible aligners, making them ideal for the self-conscious teenager. The ability to remove the aligners for eating, brushing and flossing also makes them suitable for the teenage patient. In addition, they can be removed for playing sport or musical instruments. However, because the aligners need to be worn 22 hours a day to ensure effective treatment, Invisalign Teen aligners come with a blue dot wear indicator – a helpful reminder for teenagers to keep their orthodontic ‘mouthguard’ on!
Invisalign i7 – Many people would like orthodontic treatment to fix a crooked tooth or realign teeth that may have moved, but are put off by the thought of having to wear unsightly braces. This is where Invisalign i7 can be of most benefit. Suitable for minor cases, Invisalign i7 can get results in as little as three months.
