What are Invisalign braces?

What are Invisalign braces?

Invisalign is a near invisible alternative to fixed braces that helps many people get the straight teeth they have always wanted. The innovative system uses removable, clear plastic aligners that are custom-made to fit over your teeth, gradually moving them into the desired positions. At Pallant Orthodontics, we have been given Diamond Invisalign status – this demonstrates our experience and expertise using this orthodontic treatment method and makes us a leading provider of the treatment in the UK.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign aligners are made specifically to fit your mouth. We take accurate impressions of your teeth using the state-of-the-art iTero digital scanner (so no messy gloop for you to worry about!). The technology is also used to predict how the teeth will move so the aligners fit your teeth exactly and you get the results you want.

Over the course of your treatment you will need to change your aligners every two weeks. Each new set works to slowly move your teeth into their new position. The aligners can be removed for eating, drinking and tooth brushing, making them a hassle-free and super convenient form of orthodontic treatment.

Who is Invisalign suitable for?

Invisalign for adults:

Invisalign can be used to treat a wide range of orthodontic problems. Because the aligners used are virtually invisible, they’re a popular treatment option among adults. Speak to one of our Orthodontists to find out if you are suitable.

Invisalign for teens:

Invisalign is also suitable for younger patients, making the aligners ideal for the self-conscious teenager. The ability to remove the aligners for eating, brushing, flossing playing sport or musical instruments makes them an even more popular choice. However, they still need to be worn for 22 hours a day to ensure effective treatment. We can therefore apply a blue dot wear indicator to Invisalign aligners to help our teen patients keep track of how often they are wearing their aligners.

Invisalign for children:

Oral health advisers around the world recommend children have an early orthodontic consultation, usually between the ages of 7 and 11. Treatment isn’t always required at this stage, but sometimes preliminary intervention can help reduce the extent of treatment needed later on. Invisalign First aligners are designed for young, growing teeth and jaws.

Diamond Invisalign providers

Invisalign is used by Orthodontists around the world and, to date, more than 5 million smiles have been created using Invisalign’s virtually invisible aligners. We have embraced this orthodontic treatment method because it gives our patients such great results and we have been recognised for our work with Diamond Invisalign provider status.
